Q: What is the difference between whey protein concentrate and whey protein isolate?
A: The fast answer is that the protein content is the main difference. Concentrate is typically 80% protein on dry weight, and isolate is typically 90% protein on dry weight. The quality of the protein is virtually identical. (The quality of the protein does not magically change when the whey is filtered to 80% as compared to being filtered to 90%).

Another difference is the other macronutrients — carbs and fat. Whey concentrate 80% is typically about 6-8% carbs and about 6-8% fats — still very high in protein! Whey isolate 90% is typically about 1-2% carbs and about 1-2% fats.

Does all that make whey protein isolate 'better'? It is different for sure. Just remember the protein quality itself is pretty much identical between the two. Again, the real difference is in the carb and fat content. If you want a lean protein, go with a whey isolate such as MUTANT ISO SURGE — it costs more than concentrate. If the carbs and fats don't bother you, then go with protein blend using whey concentrate such as MUTANT PRO or MUTANT WHEY — and those simply cost less than an isolate. Fast-absorbing ISOSURGE is best used within 30 minutes after your workout, or anytime you need a protein boost. Depending on your training demands, ISOSURGE can be consumed several times throughout the day to support your muscles. To make 1 serving, add 150-250 ml (~6-8 fl oz) of cold water or milk to a shaker cup or blender; then add 1 scoop of powder:

The real fact is NO whey isolate is absolutely 100.00% lactose free – any whey protein product claiming to be “lactose free” is VERY LIKELY NOT and would therefore not be complying with US FDA or Health Canada regulations either. The regulations are clear there – if there is ANY “detectable lactose” the product should not claim to be “lactose free”. Every whey protein has at least some “detectable lactose”
But if you can simply handle drinking about 1/8th of a cup of milk, your body can likely easily tolerate ISOSURGE’s trivial amount of lactose – both have about the same little amount of lactose. As always though, if you are truly concerned consult your doctor.

Isolate is typically about 10% higher in protein than whey protein concentrate (90% protein vs 80% protein typically). The quality of the protein is virtually identical. The quality of the protein portion itself does not magically change in any significant way when the whey is filtered to 80% protein as compared to being filtered to 90% protein.

Whey concentrate costs less – many people use it of course.
Whey Isolate is simply regarded as cleaner and leaner (higher in protein, with hardly any (about 1-2% typically) lactose or fat remaining, whereas whey concentrate would retain about 6-8% naturally occurring lactose and 6-8% fat.

10/10, always the best flavours and never a problem with mixing. Only flavour I don’t like is strawberry milkshake but I just don’t like the chunks of strawberry ‍♂️. Every other flavour is top notch, best whey isolate out there
